Welcome to Def-Space Launchpad, the Startup Accelerator Program organised by the Machine Learning and Technology Hub (MATH) in collaboration with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The program aims to foster innovation and drive technological advancements in the defence and aerospace domains through cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions.

About The Program

The defence and aerospace industry in India is a $27 billion industry where every single day, there are a wide range of problem statements to be solved. Who better to help solve that than startups?

The Def-Space Launchpad Program is an initiative by MATH and Bharat Dynamics Limited aimed at fostering startup innovation in the defence and aerospace industries. 

An extensive program that takes startups through a journey of innovation, discovery and partnership that enables them to ultimately work alongside Bharat Dynamics Limited to solve real world problem statements in the defence and aerospace industry. 

Startup Focus Areas - What Startups Can Apply?

Development of Identification, Classification and Tracking Algorithm

Develop algorithms for real-time data processing from RF/EO/IR/IIR sensors on missiles/high-speed UAVs/Aircrafts.

Hostile Target Detection & Tracking

Detect and track hostile targets in challenging environments using advanced visual cues and countermeasure evasion scenarios.

Enhancing Underwater Sensor Capability

Improve detection and classification abilities of underwater sensors in UUVs by analysing acoustic data, conducting time-series analysis, and implementing ML models.

Radar Enhancement with ML Techniques

Utilize machine learning techniques to enhance radar systems' detection capabilities, focusing on scenarios like drone detection.

Other Relevant Use Cases

Evaluate startups' initiatives in defence/aerospace domains for potential collaboration and support.

What Happens on Demo Day

Demo Day will conclude the process of startup selection for the Def-Space Launchpad with 10 startups presenting to the BDL team. Out of the 10, 3 startups will be selected to work directly with BDL on various problem statements. 

This event will serve as a platform for startups to showcase their innovative solutions to a distinguished audience comprising investors, industry experts, and potential collaborators. It is an opportunity for startups to demonstrate their technological prowess, receive feedback, and explore partnership possibilities for future growth.
